Pattern Recognition in Powertrain Development– Online Modelling & Optimization of ECU-Functions

Observation based first principle modelling have been a major system characterization approach for the foreseeable past. Pattern recognition methods have been paving a new wave along with aforesaid amidst availability of quality data and the need for optimization of complex engine interactions, especially with onset of electrification. This article outlines the development of a methodology at APL that can be used to optimize electronic control unit functions with the ensemble of decision trees.
